Gladys Belle Todd

The family of Gladys Belle Todd, 90, who died at her home on January 28, 2008, would like to invite friends to celebrate with us her life. This service will be held at the First Baptist Church on 649 Crater Lake Ave. in Medford, on Sunday, February 3, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service.

Gladys was born November 11, 1917, in Weldona, Colo., to Roscoe Lee and Dora Belle Brantley. Her family moved to Ashland when she was 15. She was a graduate of Ashland Senior High School and Southern Oregon Normal School (S.O.U.).

On May 28, 1938, she married Ralph Angus Todd of Medford. In May of this year they would have celebrated their marriage of 70 years. Together they raised four children, Ralph Stanley (Marey), of Idyllwild, Calif., Beverly Jean Smith (Dave), of Ukiah, Calif., Donald Angus (Georgia) of Jacksonville, and Richard Lee (Denise), of Arlington, Wash. Their four children and offspring were greatly cherished by Gladys.

Gladys taught in various elementary schools in Gold Hill, Cornelius, and Medford. She may be best remembered for her love of the scriptures as she taught Bible History and led classes in Bible Study Fellowship. In her retirement she and her husband, Angus, operated a Shaklee direct sales business.

Gladys is survived by her loving husband, Angus; four children; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Melvin Brantley, of Summerfield, Fla.; sister, Clarice Brantley Mayfield, of Medford; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Fern Winifred Walker; and four brothers, Ervin Brantley, Laurence Brantley, Robert Brantley, and Gene Brantley.

Gifts in her name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Medford, Wycliffe Bible Translators, or Rogue Valley Medical Center Hospice Program.
