Fideles Rudella Wagner Richardson passed away early Sunday morning, February 17, 2008.
Della, as she liked being called, was born April 11, 1920, to Gertrude and Jesse Wagner in Yakima, Wash.
Her surviving sister, Pat Johnson lives in Ventura, Calif. Della survived her brothers Leo, Paul and Charles Wagner. Her sons, John Sawtelle of Arcadia, Calif., James Sawtelle of Mesa, Ariz. and Jerald Sawtelle of Medford, provided her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Della spent her formative years in Medford, graduating from Medford High School in 1937. She left Medford in 1941, traveling on a troop train to San Diego where she joined her husband-soldier, Doug Sawtelle. After the war they moved to Central Point for a few years before returning to the southern California area. When Della's second husband, Roy Richardson, passed away in 1991, she retired to the Rogue Valley, settling in Talent where her natural charm and wit are a fond memory to friends and family.
