Coeur d'Alene used a five-goal second period to skate past the Rogue Valley Wranglers for a 7-4 triumph Friday night in Junior A hockey at The RRRink.

The Wranglers (2-45) managed a 2-1 lead after one period thanks to goals from Pavle Ogrizovic and David Giguere, but the Lakers stormed back with a 5-1 scoring edge in the second period. Cody Wade tacked on the lone goal in that period for Rogue Valley.

Giguere scored his second goal to trim the Wranglers' deficit to 6-4 late in the third on a power play, but Tyler Mort's goal 1:22 later allowed Coeur d'Alene (11-35) to rebuild its cushion.

Clayton Lewis tallied three assists to lead Rogue Valley, while Nick Cafrelli stopped 34 of 41 shots in goal for the Wranglers.

Rogue Valley will again play host to Coeur d'Alene at 8 tonight in the season finale for both NORPAC teams.
