Medford's all about free parenting classes today: One in a school series continues, and another series starts.

A 7 p.m. class organized by area parent-teacher organizations and American Mothers Inc. is set at the media center at Lone Pine Elementary School, 3158 Lone Pine Road in Medford.

It's based on the books "The Power of Positive Parenting" and "Parenting with Love" by Dr. Glen Latham. More classes in the series are planned in March and April.

Also, the social service group Community Works starts a free six-class series of parenting classes at 6:30 tonight in Medford.

The classes for parents of children up to age 11 will include topics such as positive discipline, effective communication, boundaries, self-esteem, cooperation, child development, misbehavior and anger and stress management.
