ASHLAND — Saturday, April 5, marks the second annual observation of Kiwanis One Day, a day when Kiwanis and its family of clubs, including the Ashland High School Key Club, join forces with their communities for a day of hands-on service.

More than 600 Kiwanis clubs participated in the inaugural Kiwanis One Day last year, and Kiwanis hopes to double that number this year.

This year, the Kiwanis Club of Ashland plans to coordinate an activity at the downtown Ashland plaza. On April 5, a strip of double-sided tape will be laid around the plaza. Passersby are asked to bring coins to place anywhere on the tape. The money will be used to purchase books for Ashland's schools. Kiwanis and Key Club volunteers will be available to make change.
