The public can see a work-in-progress film about environmental issues in the Klamath Basin and meet the author of the book the film is based on tonight in Ashland.

The event for "River of Renewal: conflict in the Klamath," a documentary, is from 7 to 9 p.m. at Nuwandart Gallery, 258 A St., Ashland. Admission is $5 to $10 on a sliding-scale donation system.

The evening is a benefit for Klamath Riverkeeper organization.

Stephen Mosts, who wrote the book "River of Renewal: Myth and History of the Klamath Basin," will be on hand to sign his book and answer questions about and take comments on the film.
