Ynez Werlich Clegg

Ynez Werlich Clegg, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2008 at Rogue Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Drumheller, Canada on October 29, 1920 to Frank and Kathyrn Powers. Her father was a Canadian railway engineer and Ynez often spoke fondly of her upbringing in the Canadian Rockies.

Having taught elementary school in Vallejo, Calif., and special education in Napa, Calif., for 30 years, she retired only to open a Diet Center in Sonoma, Calif. In 2002, she moved to Medford, Ore., to be closer to her family.

Her love of children, animals, gardening, cooking, travel, and proudly volunteering as a Pink Lady at RVMC all added to make for a full life.

Survivors include three adopted children, a son, John (Valerie) Werlich of Westlake Village; a daughter, Diane (Mark) Heitz of Napa, Calif.; and son, Jeff (Pat) Werlich of Medford; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

No services are planned, but she will be missed and dearly remembered by all as kind, generous, and fun-loving.
