A Talent man's beef with an 80-foot-tall wireless Internet tower set to be erected near his home goes to the city's Planning Commission tonight.

The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. in the community center, 206 E. Main St. The meeting is open to the public.

John Conley, who lives on Quail Circle, less than 350 feet from the site where Clearwire wants to build the tower at the city's public works yard, has gone door to door to more than 150 homes to alert his neighbors about the plan.

He distributed fliers claiming the tower presents a health hazard and will decrease property values and that the firm hasn't explored placing its equipment on other towers in town.
