John Rory Wells

1956 - 2008

John Wells passed away April 24, 2008, after an accident near John's Peak. John will always be remembered for his sense of humor and larger than life personality.

John was born in 1956 to Clarence and Betty Wells in Los

Angeles, Calif. He was raised in San Jose, Calif., where he

graduated from Willow Glen High and met his wife, Marie Sisco.

In 1979 John married Marie Sisco, in San Jose, and then the couple moved to Oregon. John started his career in

firefighting with the Klamath Falls City Fire Department in 1983. Shortly after, he celebrated the births of his daughters, Jenna and Amanda Wells, who were the lights of his life. In 1992 he was hired on to the Medford Fire Department as a

Firefighter/EMT.

John is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter, Amanda Wells; two brothers, Bob and Thomas Wells; one sister, Cathy

Ferreira; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenna, and both parents.

John had an incredible enthusiasm for life that touched all who knew him. You may have known John for many years or just met him briefly, but for sure, you shared laughter and joy with a very special person. It didn't take much to know John, he was a strong, proud, and genuine man.

John loved his friends and fellow Firefighters and enjoyed

exchanging practical jokes. There was always a constant

effort to outdo one another, with John often having the last word. John was always playful, keeping those around him on their toes.

From a young age, John had a passion for motorcycles and anything with any engine. He could always be found in his shop, working on a project. John had many loves, but the most important thing to him was his family.
