Elsie Vera (Lee) Seagoe



Elsie Vera (Lee) Seagoe, 77, formerly of Eagle Point, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at her daughter's home in Central Point.



Elsie was born on September 18, 1930 in Lewis, Colo., to

parents, George and Dora Lee. She married Thomas W.

Seagoe on December 22, 1957. They had five children, but later divorced in the early 1980s. Thomas preceded her in death in January 2007.



Throughout much of her lifetime, Elsie was a bookkeeper, initially with First National Bank as the ledger bookkeeper and teller, in both Grants Pass and Medford and for Bates Wholesale. Elsie also worked for Harry & David, Cascade Wood and other various businesses in the Rogue Valley.



Elsie was a long-time member of Trail Christian Fellowship. She loved the Lord and treasured times of sitting and hearing God's word wherein she found great comfort during the

difficult times in life.



Her many hobbies included tole painting, antique collecting, and gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren at their many sporting and 4H/FFA events, day trips to the mountains or the ocean and family music nights. Elsie enjoyed every aspect of nature, most especially birds. No matter the activity, from fishing to cutting wood, Elsie loved being with her family.



She was preceded in death by her father and mother; two brothers, Stanley and Delbert Lee; and one sister, Ada Schoettle.



Elsie is survived by her son, Steve Seagoe of Eagle Point; daughters Linda Phillips (Steve) of Central Point, Sandra

Barrett, Sharon Bateman (Mike), and Deanne Lawrence (Chris) all of Eagle Point; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Edith Brannon (Orville) of Central Point.



A Celebration of Life will take place at the Trail Christian

Fellowship this Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with

Pastor Rick Booye officiating, burial to follow at the

Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River. Arrangements are being handled by Chapel of the Valley, Grants Pass. Memorial

contributions may be made in Elsie's honor to Providence Hospice.



The family wishes to thank caregiver, Felicia Christie for all of the loving care and support she contributed to the family and specifically, Elsie, during the past year and a half.
