A series of Medford streets will be closed for part of the afternoon for the procession honoring two firefighters killed in an ATV accident last week.

A series of Medford streets will be closed for part of the afternoon for a procession honoring two firefighters killed in an ATV accident last week.

The service for Gale Gurr and John Wells is at 2 p.m. at Mountain Christian Fellowship church, 1 E. Main St.

After the service, which is expected to last an hour to an hour and 20 minutes, a procession of 35 fire trucks and other vehicles will travel from the church to the Ramada Inn, 2250 Biddle Road, closing streets along the way.

The procession will follow a route that starts at the church, heads onto Front Street, then on Eighth to Riverside and on Riverside to Fourth. Then it turns on to Biddle Road, following it to the Ramada Inn.

The reception there begins at 4 p.m.

In addition, Front Street from Sixth to Main streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to serve as a staging area for the procession.
