Highway 62 near Costco would get two new traffic signals and street connections would be modified under a plan proposed by the city of Medford and the state.

The Medford City Council will consider the plan during a public hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St.

The $10.4 million project would realign Crater Lake Avenue at Coker Butte Road and Owen Drive, as well as connect two portions of Owen Drive. The Owen Drive connection would enable traffic to get from Highway 62 to Springbrook Road. The project also would add two traffic signals along the highway, at Coker Butte and Owen, and would remove the signal at Cardinal Avenue.

The Statewide Transportation Improvement Project program will contribute $9.4 million and the city $1 million.
