Doran Anderson Knight

Doran Knight, 80, of Grandview, Wash., passed away on April 27, 2008 at Kadlec Medical Center. Dad was born to Oscar Knight and Zula Elizabeth (Rudisaile) Knight on February 4, 1928 in Cushing, Okla. He was raised in Arkansas and moved to Medford, Ore., with his mother in 1943, after the death of his father.

Dad joined the Navy at the end of WWII and was part of the "replacement troops" at Guam. He married Betty Atwood in 1955. He worked in the mills and drove logging trucks in southern Oregon. He was proud of some of those big trucks. Those who were lucky enough to ride with him found it an unforgettable experience.

Dad was a proud member of the Moose, Eagles and V.F.W.

Dad is survived by three children, Loretta Knight of San Francisco, Calif., Doreen (John) Rinehart of Grandview, Wash., and Mel (Judy) Knight of Prosser, Wash.; three grandchildren, Derek Knight, Jennifer Rinehart and Jacob Rinehart; he also has honorary children, grandchildren, former wife, Betty, and in-laws that he loved and who loved him.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents and his ten, much older, siblings.

4-10 Cafe in Grandview was like a second home to him. Thank you all. Also thank you to the wonderful staff at Kadlec.
