4:30 p.m. update: "Classic" forums are available again for the afternoon and evening. Technicians plan more work on them Friday morning after about 9 a.m.

The Mail Tribune’s “classic” forums are inaccessible this afternoon while the newspaper upgrades the software that runs the system.

It should be available to members again by 4 p.m.

Today’s changes should not affect the look and feel of the forum, but members may have to log in again to return to discussions.

Members who have misplaced log-in information can contact online editor Julie Wurth at jwurth@mailtribune.com.

Story-response forums remain active while the “classic” system is down.
