If it's a good laugh you need to start your weekend, don't forget the live comedy shows at Chadwick's on Friday and Saturday nights. Marc Yaffee and Mike Jenkins will perform at 8 p.m. May 23-24. Cover is $5. Get there early for a good seat.

For some gritty roots, rock and soul music, check out AnnieMac, featuring vocalist Annie McIntyre, guitarist Joe Diehl, keyboard and harp player Allen Crutcher, bassist Michael St. John and drummer Jim Sitter, at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, at 4 Daughters Irish Pub, 126 W. Main St., Medford. The fare at 4 Daughters includes an eclectic menu of Irish and American favorites along with a full bar, and with no cover.

AnnieMac has been busy getting their album "Ignition" ready for release, and the band will be opening for Three Dog Night's concert on July 10 at Britt Festivals.

The Rogue Suspects, sans guitarist Jeff Pevar, will be bringing rock 'n' roll to Touvelle Lodge, 9367 Table Rock Road, Central Point, at 7 p.m. Friday. Touvelle has a full bar and puts out a pretty good burger.

The Suspects' lineup will feature bassist Greg Frederick, guitarists Dirk Price and Rob Gunderson (of The Shouters), and drummer David Bolen. No cover. Call 826-4855.

Pevar will be joining the Suspects at 9 p.m. Saturday at Alex's Restaurant, 35 N. Main St., Ashland. Cover is $3. Call 482-8818. Pevar also will be joining the Suspects at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 30-31, at 4 Daughters.

If your barbecue is rained out, take your party to Roscoe's BBQ, 117 S. Main St., Phoenix. This restaurant is becoming famous for its ribs, chicken and brisket. Hog Wild will be performing classic rock at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Roscoe's. No cover. Call 512-1046.

For an early show on Sunday, hear The Latin Jazz Quartet perform at 2:30 p.m. at the Standing Stone Brewing Co., 101 Oak St., Ashland. No cover. The pub offers lunch and dinner, fresh microbrews and outdoor seating. Call 482-2448.
