Mildred "Millie" Overlie, 91, died peacefully at home April 30, 2008, Ashland, Ore. She was born February 15, 1917, in Hartland, Minnesota. Millie graduated from Mound High School in Minnesota and attended the Minneapolis College of Business.
She worked as a private secretary at Land O'Lakes Creamery and Minnesota Title Insurance, both in Minneapolis. She enjoyed playing piano and organ and was previously a member of the Minneapolis Musicians' Union. With husband, Walter Billman, she owned Billman Furniture and later Billman Pianos and Organs in Minneapolis. Her favorite hobby was playing bridge with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helmer and LuLu Hanson; first husband, Walter Billman; second husband, Alvin Overlie; and sister, Evelyn (Nelson) Haroldson.
She is survived by daughters, Beverly (Billman) Fleckten, of Omaha, Nebr., and Marsha (Billman) King-Rosine, of Ashland, Ore.; sons-in-law, Tom Fleckten and Art Rosine; aunt; Clara (Hanson) Margadant; granddaughters, Julie (Fleckten) Curtin, Laura (Fleckten) Wilwerding, and Jennifer (King) DeVore; grandsons, Eric Fleckten and Andrew King; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is to be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2008, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Ashland, Ore.
In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to the church, to the Parkinson Foundation, or to Unete, Advocacy Center for Farm Workers.
