Central Point posted a pair of dominating baseball wins and the Medford Padres pulled off a dramatic comeback on the opening day of the Medford Babe Ruth Memorial Day Tournament at Harry & David Field.

Mike Lesley managed the game-winning hit for Medford in the bottom of the seventh inning against Coos Bay/North Bend. The hit brought home the Padres' sixth run of the frame and allowed them to notch a 17-16 triumph in the back-and-forth tussle.

Central Point earned a pair of five-inning victories: 24-1 win over the Medford Red Sox and 24-0 win over Coos Bay. Both games were cut short due to the 10-run mercy rule, and Central Point allowed a combined three hits.

Lane Ullom was 5-for-5, Ty Wolf 4-for-5 and Derrick Torre Turi 3-for-5 with two doubles in the win over the Red Sox, while Mike Taylor was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Central Point against Coos Bay.
