Ralph Alexander Thompson, 67, of Talent, Ore., passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday May 24, 2008. He was born August 15, 1940 in Perryton, Texas, the son of Verlie and Charles Thompson. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1958. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1958-1962. Ralph began his employment with Bell Helicopter in Amarillo, Texas and later transferred to California where he met and married Kay Parnell who survives. In 1972 they moved to Ashland, Ore., where he spent 25 years employed by Ashland Sanitary Service. In addition to his wife, Kay, he is also survived by a son, Bobby of Oceanside Calif.; as well as his beloved pet dog, Lilly. Ralph is survived by six siblings, Laura Urban of Midland, Texas, Shirley Havlik of Amarillo, Texas, Margaret Mercer of Ashland, Ore., his twin, Ruby Burger of Groesbeck, Texas, Charles Thompson of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Glen Fredrickson of Ashland, Ore. He is also remembered as a loving uncle to 25 nieces and nephews. In respecting Ralph's wishes no services are planned. Private interment will take place at the Eagle Point Veteran's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Abbey Funeral home.
