Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Market's effort to add a second day to its Ashland schedule comes to the city's Planning Commission tonight, but not without opposition.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. in council chambers at the Civic Center, 1175 E. Main St. The meeting is open to the public.

The proposal to launch a Saturday market downtown, in a parking lot across from the city's First Street post office, came before the Planning Commission once before but returns now because time ran out at the first meeting.

Since then, Ashland residents Colin Swales and Philip Lang have raised concerns about the site, saying the area is already congested and that holding the market there will make that worse.
