Dorothy Paige Whatley Montamble

Dorothy Paige Whatley Montamble passed away peacefully in Medford, Ore., at the age of 85. She was the youngest of thirteen children born to Abner T. Whatley and Annie Moore in Opelika, Ala.

A devoute Christian, Dotty liked to contribute regularly to her charities, and at one time volunteered her time to the Braille Institute typing books.

Her passions were crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and cards.

A former alumnus of of Auburn University, she was enamored with English Literature.

While working at the Camp Post Office in Ft. Benning, Ga., she met and later married Phil Montamble, a paratrooper. They later raised a family together beginning in South Dakota then to Southern Calif., and eventually settling here in the Rogue Valley in 1992.

She is preceded in passing by her daughter Michelle, grandson Troy, and husband Philip.

She is survived by her only remaining sibling Mary, age 90. First cousin Ann Crutchfield, two sons: Phil and Matt, grandchildren Sam, Kyrill and Whit and numerous other cousins too copious to enumerate!

Dorothy was ready to join the Lord, God bless her soul.
