A five-day series of events paying tribute to Hispanic and Latino culture gets under way today in Ashland.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Festival Latino includes free outdoor performances of music and dance by local and regional groups, as well as performances by students from Guanajuato, Ashland's Mexican sister city.

The Guanajuato students perform today in a Green Show at 12:30 p.m. Afro-Cuban Brazilian jazz by David Valdez is highlighted in a Green Show at 7:15 p.m.

Also today, Spanish captioning on LED readers will be available during the 8:30 p.m. performance of "A View from the Bridge."
