PORTLAND — Michael Downing, representing the KO Corral Boxing Club of Central Point, remained undefeated with a unanimous decision Saturday in the Knott Street Boxing tournament at Catalina's Mexican restaurant.

PORTLAND — Michael Downing, representing the KO Corral Boxing Club of Central Point, remained undefeated with a unanimous decision Saturday in the Knott Street Boxing tournament at Catalina's Mexican restaurant.

Downing improved to 2-0 with the win over Kermel Johnson of the host club in the 185-pound senior (over 18-years-old) bout. Downing was awarded the judges card in all three rounds.

In three other senior bouts involving KO Corral boxers, trainer Wes Wambold stopped the fights in the third and final round.

Robert Hatley of the KO Corral lost to Steven Huerta of the Capital Boxing Club at 145 pounds. In a 160-pound match, Joshua Gomez was stopped by Josh Hammond of the Credit Boxing Club. And in his first fight, Joshua Bellon (142) was defeated by Abel Carranzo of the Chief Cornerstone Club.
