It's not as though there's much choice in the matter: A major storm is heading to Oregon, and it's expected to bring measurable rainfall to Southern Oregon.

The National Weather Service has predicted a 60 percent chance of rain after 11 a.m. today and showers tonight in the Medford area. Showers could continue Thursday morning, and then dry weather will return.

Forecasters said as much as 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall in northern Oregon, with much smaller amounts locally.
