Barbara Worth (Mace) Miller, 94, passed away on August 20, 2008, in a foster home in Medford, Ore.
Born July 4, 1914, in St. Francis Kansas to Morley and Frances E. Bolser Mace. She was the third of five children. She lived her early years in St. Francis, where she attended school. She went to work for the phone company as a switchboard operator. She met and married Glenn L. Miller, Oct. 8, 1932.
In 1948 they moved to Trail, Ore. and later to Newberg, Ore., where they owned and operated Wardrobe's Dry Cleaners.
She is survived by sons, Richard, Michael, and Gale; daughters Phyllis Kasser, Frances Kasser, and sister, Maude Larson, of Boulder Colo.; 24 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn of 67 years; daughter, Judith; and son, Larry.
She enjoyed bowling in mixed league, was an outstanding seamstress and did alterations in their dry cleaning businesses. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home and going to the beach. Attending the Alzheimer meetings and visiting with the other ladies was a special treat for her.
After Glenn passed away, she moved to Medford to be near her daughters, and lived the remainder of her life. She enjoyed attending plays and going out to eat.
A memorial service to celebrate her life is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008, in Newberg, Ore., at the World of Faith Church.
