Randall "Van" Brim

Randall Brim, 19, of Central Point, Ore., passed away on August 17, 2008, in Shady Cove, Ore. Randall was born August 20, 1988, to Shawna Shoffner and Bary Brim in Medford, Ore. He grew up in Central Point, and was a student at Crater High School. He completed one year with the Young Marines, and in boot camp, he was reprimanded many times for having a grin on his face. That grin would continue, lighting up many faces, and many places. He loved the outdoors and you would usually find him camping, fishing, hunting, rafting, long boarding and mountain bike riding. Van always had a smile for anyone he met, and always for his friends and family. He loved everyone. Van had just completed his application to fulfill his dream of becoming a fireman.

He is survived by his mother, Shawna Shoffner, of Central Point, Ore.; father, Bary Brim, of Colorado; stepfather, Mark Rosenzweig, of Central Point, Ore.; Brothers Marcus, Jabe and Jesse, all of Central Point, Ore.; Sisters, Shandell, Hana and Cassie, all of Medford, Ore.; nephews Ricki and Selassie; grandparents, Darla Bennett, of Central Point, Ore.; Art Shoffner, of Palo Cedro, Calif.; Burl and Mary Brim, of Texas; Roland and Fran Rosenzweig, of Central Point, Ore.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

There will be a gathering at Memory Gardens Motuary, Saturday August 30, 2008, from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family requests that his friends be in attendance. There will also be a funeral service scheduled at Bethel Church on August 31, 2008, at 2 p.m. A Fund has been set up at Umpqua Bank 1780 E.Pine St. Central Point, Ore., under Shawna Shoffner's name.
