CENTRAL POINT — Daisy Creek Vineyard and Madrone Mountain Winery are opening a joint venture Monday called the Artisan Tasting Room in downtown Central Point.

Located at 245-A Front St., between the Rogue Creamery and Lillie Belle Farms Chocolate, the tasting room will pour and sell the wines of Madrone Mountain and Daisy Creek, both based in Jacksonville.

Daisy Creek produces dry whites and reds from varietals originating in the Rhone Valley of France. Madrone Mountain produces late-harvested whites and fortified reds, derived from the traditions of Portugal and the Mosel and Rhine valleys of Germany.

In the newly renovated facility, formerly a storage site, the partners plan to occasionally feature wines from other small Rogue Valley producers, as well as artwork and wine-themed collectibles from around the world.

The 1,000-square-foot facility will feature gift items — including antique wine decanters, wooden-boxed wine sets, library wines, gift baskets with Rogue Creamery cheeses and Lillie Belle Farms chocolates, apparel and other wine-themed products.

The Artisan Tasting Room is open Thursday-Monday, noon to 6 p.m. Call 541-664-1707 for information, or e-mail info@madronemountain.com or daisycreek@clearwire.net.
