Sherita Pearl Vlach

Sherita departed this earth for home on Sept. 14, 2008, following a brief, intense battle against pancreatic cancer. Beloved wife to Bob; mother to Erynn Lacey-Keppel, Erich Diekmann and Candace Jaeger; stepmom to Eric, Anne, Sarah, Veronica, Alexandria, Michael and John; grandmother to Aryanna, Drew, Gunnar, Garrett, Morgan, Rose, Ethan, Spencer, Devyn, Jayci, Ryan and Kalissa. She is survived also by her sister, Bonnie, and brother, Richard.

Sherita Pearl Gestring was born on Oct. 15, 1945, in San Jose, Calif. She has lived, loved and worked in that area of California, and for the last 30 years, in Southern Oregon. She has worked for the Ashland School District, co-founded Weisinger winery, and most recently been with Ashland Community Hospital in the Admissions department. Besides her considerable skills as a homemaker, mother and businesswoman, Sherita has enhanced many worship services in the community and at Grace Lutheran Church in Ashland with her captivating alto voice. Unfortunately for those left behind, the Lord has a need for her services in the heavenly choir. Please join her family in a memorial celebration of her life to be held at the Ashland Christian Fellowship, Oak and Hersey Streets, Ashland, at 11 a.m., Oct. 4, 2008. As with our marriage and many of our celebrations, Hawaii will be the theme. Donations may be sent to Grace Lutheran Music Ministry/Sherita, 660 Francis Lane, Ashland, Ore., 97520.

Aloha! Dear Sherita, my Pearl!!
