Jordan Cove Energy Project and Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline are coming to Shady Cove tonight for a town-hall meeting about their plans for a liquified natural gas pipeline through the area.

It's from 7 to 9 p.m. at the town grange hall, 95 Chaparral.

The companies are in the midst of a series of meetings to talk about their plans in affected communities. Their proposal would construct a pipeline terminal in Coos Bay, and the pipeline would run through parts of Southern Oregon on its way to Malin.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission recently issued a draft environmental impact statement for the projects. It's available here.

People who can't attend tonight's meeting in Shady Cove can travel to another one from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Canyonville.
