Helen Dolores Cavaco Weaver

Dec. 13, 1928 - Sept. 23, 2008

December 13, 1928, God loaned us an angel. September 23, 2008, He said, time to come home.

Helen was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, along with her twin brother, Frank. She was very active, having spent several years working as a teenager with E.K. Fernandez Circus and entertained U.S. Forces in Hawaii. She later married Carl "Bobo" Olson, and they had four beautiful children, Carl, Vincent, Brenda and Arthur. The family moved to the San Francisco, Calif., area in the early 1950s. Bobo won the world's middle weight championship in 1953. They separated and divorced in 1957.

Helen worked as a chef for many years while raising the four children. She met Gary Weaver in 1967, and they married on Feb. 24, 1968. They moved back to Honolulu and returned to settle in Milpitas, California in 1972.

Unfortunately in November 1998, Helen suffered a serious stroke. The couple then moved to Medford, Oregon in July 1999. After several minor set backs, Helen encountered another serious stroke on Sept. 13, 2008. God said I need you to come back to me on Sept. 23, 2008.

She was so loved and gave so much love to all she touched. Dance with the angels, Helen, Aloha!

She is to be greatly missed by her husband, Gary, and the children, Carl Olson and family, of San Bruno, Calif., Vincent Olson and family, of Carmichael, Calif., Brenda Cotta and family, of Medford, Ore., and Arthur Olson and family, of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Gladys Grimshaw, of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister-in-law, Bobbie Cavaco, of Lathrup, Calif.; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and all that knew and loved her. Private services will be held at Eastwood Cemetery in Medford, Oregon.

Arrangements are by Abbey Funeral of Medford.
