EUGENE — It will be a full month before the Rogue Valley Wranglers see Michael Frei again. For Frei, that time can't come fast enough.

Frei scored four times as the Eugene Generals blitzed the Wranglers 9-1 on Saturday night in a NORPAC game at Lane Events Center. Frei, who scored twice short handed and twice at even strength, had seven goals in the two games, which the Generals won by a combined 19-2 score.

Sean O'Connor had a power-play goal and two assists for Eugene (2-0), which will face the Wranglers again on Oct. 27. The Generals dominated the special teams, scoring twice on the power-play and three times shorthanded.

Kyler Zimick, Kyle Mills, Joe Myers and RJ Cigile also scored for the Generals. Camden Mee scored on an assist from Josef Chase for Rogue Valley's lone goal.

Jerod Secondo got the start in net for the Wranglers (0-2) after relieving Nick Cafrelli on Friday.

The Wranglers face the Tri-City Titans on Friday in their home opener at The RRRink in Medford.
