October arrives this week and so do a slew of election forums, including two today that are focused on ballot measures.

Organizations including Oregon Action, Basic Rights Oregon, Unete and Partnership for Safety and Justice plan a forum on ballot measures at 7 tonight at the Central Library, 205 S. Central Ave., Medford.

Community leaders will discuss the measures and answer questions from the audience.

A discussion of Ballot Measure 65, which seeks to create an "open" primary for Oregon voters, is set from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the conference center at Medford Fabrication, 1109 Court St., Medford. The event is sponsored by the Oregon chapter of the American Leadership Forum and is one in a series set this fall.

Both are free and open to the public.

Child care will be available at the library meeting.
