Two Jackson County lawmakers and the people who hope to take their seats in November's election appear today in a candidate forum.

It's set from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the Jackson County Courthouse, 10 S. Oakdale, Medford, and it's open to the public.

State Reps. Sal Esquivel, a Medford Republican, and Peter Buckley, an Ashland Democrat, meet Lynn Howe, a Democrat challenging Esquivel, and Pete Belcastro, an Independent facing Buckley.

A question-and-answer period will follow presentations by the candidates.

The event is hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Rogue Valley. It is the first of four planned by the group in advance of the Nov. 4 election.

It will be available on Rogue Valley Community Television, Channel 14 on most systems.
