A California man pleaded guilty this morning in Jackson County Circuit Court to four counts of attempted aggravated murder in connection with drive-by shootings in 2005.

Ramon Cazarez Magdaleno, of Compton, appeared before Judge Ron Grensky. His sentencing is set Friday.

Medford police identified Magdaleno as the suspect in a shooting in the first block of North Orange Street in Medford on Aug. 13, 2005. That evening, a group of teenagers lounging on a rooftop area of a home got into a dispute with residents across the alley at a home on Peach Street. Moments later, a burgundy pickup truck pulled into the alley and a young Hispanic man inside fired several shots. One teen was grazed in the back of the head by a bullet.

Magdaleno fled to California after the incident and was arrested there. He originally was charged with eight counts of attempted murder, four counts of attempted first-degree assault and third-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
