Boys Skyline Soccer

PHOENIX 7, ILLINOIS VALLEY 0 — At Phoenix, Jalisco Macias had a goal and three assists and Andy Buell scored twice as Phoenix won the Skyline Conference game.

Phoenix (11-1, 6-1 Skyline) is one-half game behind first-place Henley in the standings and visits Hidden Valley Saturday. Henley has completed its season. A win by Phoenix in its finale would prompt a seeding game against Henley next week for the state playoffs.

Macias tallied in the seventh minute, taking a pass from Chris Solis, to start the scoring. Macias then assisted on goals by Buell and Frankie Torres as the first half ended 3-0.

Carlos Mena, Miguel Diaz and Rafael Castrejon joined Buell in second-half scoring. Solis had another assist, as did Mena and Ron Quentero.

Girls Dist. 6 Soccer

ST. MARY'S 5, CASCADE CHRISTIAN 0 — Mackenzie Krieser scored consecutive goals and assisted on another to put St. Mary's within one game of wrapping up the District 6 title at St. Mary's High.

Krieser scored in the 15th and 19th minutes. On the second goal, Krieser obliged with a 6-yard shot on a perfectly placed cross from Alyx Irvine.

Krieser also assisted on Sarah Seus' goal in the 60th minute. Seus faked right and shot left during a one-on-one with the keeper.

The Crusaders' Gabby Carini scored her first career goal in the 11th minute, and Kelsey Gross tallied the other.

Gina Barbieri, who also had and assist, and Lauren Angel combined for the shutout in goal for the Crusaders (11-2, 9-2 Dist. 6).
