Ashland's girls team, which won the conference regular-season title, dropped a 6-5 decision to North Eugene in the title game.

Natalie Delcarlo and Allison Gida scored two goals each for the Grizzlies and goalie Carley Santee rejected 11 shots.

In the semifinals against Cottage Grove, Delcarlo and Gida had eight goals apiece in an 18-6 victory.

Delcarlo, Ashland's leading scorer, was selected the league Most Valuable Player and was also a first-team all-conference pick along with Gida.

In boys, South Eugene defeated the Grizzlies in the finals, 22-11.

German foreign exchange student Robin Haase led the Grizzlies with five goals and Troy Robinson added three.

In a 12-5 win over Cottage Grove in the semifinals, Haase scored five goals, while Robinson and Rafferty Swink had two each. Goalkeeper Willis Plummer recorded 14 bocks.

Haase and Robinson were selected to the all-conference team and Haase was also honored as the league MVP.

Both Grizzly teams advance to the Class 5A state tournament Friday and Saturday in Albany.
