Haunted houses are setting up shop around the valley, but you don't have to wait for Halloween to check them out.

Here are a few that are open tonight:

Gold Hill Historical Society plans a haunted house from 6 to 9 p.m. at 504 First Ave., Gold Hill. Admission is $2 for scare-seekers 12 and older and $1 for everybody else.

The Ashland Elks plan a haunted house at 255 E. Main St., Ashland, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Admission is a $2 donation.

The Circus of Screams haunted house, a fundraiser for youth wrestling and acting programs, opens at 6:30 p.m. at 9512 Highway 62. Admission is $7 or $5 and a can of food for ACCESS Food Share.
