Jean Francis Barnhart

Jean Francis Barnhart, 80, of Eagle Point, Ore., passed away peacefully on November 21, 2008, at Providence Hospital.

Jean was born in Medford, Ore., on February 22, 1928. She was the youngest of seven children born to Richard and Mae Denman. They were blessed with six boys and Jean. In January of 1951, Jean married Earl Hollen Barnhart. They had 57 happy years together in which they raised three children together.

Jean was a school teacher at Mae Richardson Elementary School in Central Point, Ore., for 20 years. Retirement fun included golf, nickel machines and the love of reading books.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four of her brothers, Richard, Keith, Joseph and Father Don Denman. She is survived by her husband, Earl Hollen Barnhart; her three children, Richard Duane Barnhart, of Oroville, Calif., Earl Christopher Barnhart, of St. Louis, Mo., and Karen Jean Brown, of Portland, Ore.; her two brothers, George, of Missoula, Mont., and Ralph, of Central Point, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
