Most of the sold properties had been financed by GE Healthcare Finance, which moved to foreclose on some of its Sunwest properties in July. The sale was part of an agreement with GE, which entered a forbearance agreement on additional properties it continues to hold.

The sale leaves Sunwest with about 200 properties, including 13 in bankruptcy, around the United States. Sunwest also said its chief executive, Jon Harder, has resigned. Harder filed personal bankruptcy Dec. 31.

An Eagle Point retirement center, Eagle Cove Retirement and Assisted Living, went into default in November and was not part of the transaction.
