Ed and Beverly Gray celebrated their 50th anniversary Dec. 26, 2008, with an evening reception and dinner at the Bella Union in Jacksonville.

Ed and Beverly Gray celebrated their 50th anniversary Dec. 26, 2008, with an evening reception and dinner at the Bella Union in Jacksonville.

Their whole family gathered for this occasion and all 15 family members attended the celebration.

Ed Gray married Beverly Campbell on Dec. 27, 1958, in Belleville, N.J.

They met in high school in Belleville, N.J. Ed went on to Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., on a crew scholarship. Beverly graduated from Averett College in Danville, Va. They married while Ed was in the Marine Officer Program and first lived in Quantico, Va.

Their first two children were born in Beauford, S.C. The second two were born in Connecticut, where the Grays lived for about 17 years and Ed worked at several jobs, but mainly for So. New England Telephone Co.

They moved to Medford in July 1978 and Ed worked for NW Bell, retiring in 1989. The Grays moved to the Jacksonville area in 1995.

Ed is active in the Medford Kiwanis and the SMART Reading Program.

Bev also participates in SMART, is a member of P.E.O., the Southern Oregon Tennis Club and a collector's club.

The Grays have four sons, Scott (Sonya) Gray of Wallingford, Conn.; Jeff (Laura) Gray of Applegate; Matt (Ami) Gray of Seward, Alaska; and Doug (Sandra) Gray of Portland. They also have five grandchildren.
