Linda Cole-Elkinton, 55, ended her long battle with diabetes when she passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009. Linda Gale Hawk was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Mar. 13, 1953. The first half of her life was spent in the Klamath Basin area, where she was raised, went to school, worked, and married. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers and sisters, and a granddaughter "Littles."
Linda married Arvin Cole in 1971 and they raised three children. They later divorced but remained friends. She married Gary Elkinton in 1999, and she welcomed two sons into their family.
Linda devoted her life to helping others. Her home was always open for those who needed a hand with life's daily tasks, and always putting others first. When she moved to Medford in the mid '80s, she started working for the Rogue Valley Manor where she worked for 20 years. When she was away from work she enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Falene and Link Olson, John Cole, Panda Cole, Brandy Morehouse, Michael and Sarah Elkinton, and Shane Elkinton. Linda had numerous family members and special friends all of whom she was thankful for.
Linda's life became complete with the addition of grandchildren which she loved and spoiled because she could. Watahshon, Octavia, Raymond, Kaden, Tahleena, Amelia, Asa, Isaiah, and Jason. She will be dearly missed by her four legged buddy "Tigger."
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in the Rogue Room at Skyline Plaza (Rogue Valley Manor), — Skyline Drive, Medford, Ore. Officiating will be Don Hildebrand.
