AGATE - Fishing activity is very slow at the lake, which has steadied at about half-full now. Cold water temperatures have kept bass and crappie off the bite. A few trout from the fall's planting are still swimming. Use PowerBait or worms.

APPLEGATE - Water levels remain too low for boat access at the lake, which has severely curbed fishing effort, but in-flows have increased. Bank anglers around French Gulch were catching rainbow trout and a few bass during warmer afternoons last weekend. Anglers can keep up to five trout or stocked salmon a day, but only one fish can be more than 20 inches long. Also, no bass between 12 and 15 inches can be kept, and only one bass longer than 15 inches can be kept.

EMIGRANT - The lake is about half-full and angling effort remains light. Some trout are being caught in the Emigrant Arm and near the rowing club dock by anglers fishing PowerBait off the bank. Worms and bobbers also could work well. Fishing for perch, bluegill and crappie is slow in the Songer Wayside area, but sunny afternoons can produce a little flurry of activity. A standing public-health advisory has been issued about eating all but trout from the lake because of elevated mercury levels.

EXPO - Fishing for bluegill and other panfish is very slow. Very little effort has been seen here.

LAKE of the WOODS - The lake is iced-over, but there are no reports of thickness safe enough for ice-fishing. The resort road access remains blocked by snow. The only access now is off Dead Indian Memorial Road.

LOST CREEK - A public-health advisory has been lifted for blue-green algae, and trolling for trout should be good on calm days. Wedding Ring lures with worms behind flashers are the winter troller's favorite weapons. Triple Teasers can work well, too. Bank angling is best around the Takelma boat ramp. Chartreuse or rainbow PowerBait are most common. Trout 16 to 20 inches are somewhat common off the bank.

SELMAC - Trout and bass fishing is slow amid cold water conditions and snow.

TENMILE - Largemouth bass fishing has slowed way down amid cold and wet weather. The bass are in deeper water, especially around structure. Try fishing plastic worms or grubs walked very slowly along the bottom, and watch for very light strikes.
