Eagle Point amassed five pins and won all but two weight classes in posting a 66-12 nonconference wrestling victory at South Medford on Thursday.

Ben Zomerdyk (119), Trent Kaiser (135), Gage Baumer (152), Steven Josephson (171) and Taylor Marasco (189) earned pins for Eagle Point. South Medford's lone victories came from Steven Lines at 130 and a forfeit at 140.

"I thought this was a good win for us," Eagle Point coach Kacey McNulty said. "I thought we were going to have a tighter dual with them. I was pleased that our guys went out and wrestled with confidence and got after them."

The closest match was at 125, with Eagle Point's Daniel Soto overcoming a three-point deficit late to win a 7-6 decision against Sierra Land.

After Land was called for locking hands, Soto got a takedown with 20 seconds remaining and rode Land out for the win.

"It was nice to see him put in that situation and come out on top," McNulty said of Soto.

McNulty also credited the work of Jake Gallo, who posted a 12-4 decision against Josh Bokish.

"He just scrambled well, adjusted well and stayed busy," McNulty said.
