CORVALLIS — Roeland Schaftenaar scored a career-high 26 points Thursday as Oregon State beat Stanford 66-54 to complete a season sweep of the Cardinal.

Calvin Haynes added 17 points for the Beavers (12-13, 6-8), who have their most conference wins since winning eight in the 2004-05 season. Oregon State won zero last season.

Oregon State led by as many as 21 in the second half, only to see Stanford rally in the closing minutes.

Green made three consecutive 3-pointers, the last closing the gap to 59-54 with 1:53 left.

But the Cardinal wouldn't score again, and the Beavers iced the game at the free-throw line.

Oregon State jumped out to a 19-point lead 11 minutes into the game. Schaftenaar scored eight straight and Haynes followed with seven more in a 21-2 run that put the Beavers ahead 25-6.

Stanford scored the last five points of the half to cut the deficit to 29-17.

Oregon State finished the game shooting 21-of-39 (54 percent). Stanford shot 20-of-48 (42 percent).
