Pierrette "Perri" Marie Johnson



Pierrette Marie Johnson, 76, of Medford, Ore., peacefully joined her Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009. A prayer vigil in Celebration will be held Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Perl Funeral Home. The funeral Mass ensues Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with reception to follow.



Perri was born May 28, 1932, she was one of nine siblings, in the Province of Quebec, Canada. By 1955 she had become a registered nurse, relocated to the Rogue Valley and served 32 years at Providence Hospital before retiring.



Outside of her love and support for her family and friends, Perri had a passion for the outdoors; backpacking, skiing, bicycling, running, and walking, but her true passion was her commitment to God and his work.



She was a 23 year member of St. Vincent de Paul, not to mention numerous other organizations. She touched many lives.



Perri was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings; her husband and soulmate, Earl Tanner Johnson; and daughter, Janine Michelle Marie Staten. Survivors include sister, Cecile Pleau; son, Robert Staten and wife Shelly; grandchildren, Ryan Staten and wife Amber, Tyler Staten, and Skylar Staten; stepchildren, Mark and Barb Johnson, Steve and Beth Hilyer, Scott and Sherry Pendarvis; Ghrmai and Mana Mehbratu; and an additional ten grandchildren.



In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent de Paul, or the Magdalene home.
