SALEM — The 19th-ranked Southern Oregon University women's basketball team had its 12-game winning streak snapped with an 86-79 loss to Corban College on Friday.

SALEM — The 19th-ranked Southern Oregon University women's basketball team had its 12-game winning streak snapped with an 86-79 loss to Corban College on Friday.

Corban improved to 11-16 overall and 7-12 in Cascade Conference play. Southern Oregon dropped to 23-5 overall and 15-4 in conference action. The Raiders travel to eighth-ranked Concordia tonight.

Former North Medford High standout Kailey Bostwick led Corban with 22 points and seven assists. Bostwick finished with six 3-pointers.

Senior Rhiannon Dickison led SOU with 26 points and five 3-pointers. Dickison now ranks third in SOU history in career 3-pointers. Jacki Speer had her 19th double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Whitney Scott had 15 points and Emily Brookins finished with 10 points.

Corban held the Raiders to 39 percent shooting in the first half as the Warriors took a 41-34 lead into intermission. The Warriors pushed the lead to 17 at 59-42 before SOU came flying back.

The Raiders managed to cut the lead to 67-65 with 7:46 to play after 3-pointers by Dickison, Scott and Carly Wood.

But Corban answered with a 10-3 run over the next five minutes to regain control of the game.

Men's Basketball

CORBAN 74, SOUTHERN OREGON 65 — At Salem, Southern Oregon used a late run but it wasn't enough as the Warriors held on for a Cascade Conference win.

Paul Martin had 22 points to lead Corban.

Austin Wolfer led SOU with 18 points on seven of eight shooting from the field. Eli Thornton finished with 14 points and Jarrad Childs had 13.

The Warriors led 49-43 with 11:22 to play before SOU kicked it up a gear.

Three straight points by Thornton and a 3-pointer by Childs cut the advantage to 50-47 with 9:40 to play. Senior Josh McDermott added a basket to cut the lead to one at 50-49.

McDermott then scored on a basket and a free throw to give the Raiders a 52-50 lead.

SOU took the lead when Childs scored four of the next six points for a 58-53 advantage with 6:28 to play.

Corban, however, answered and eventually went ahead for good at 66-64.

Corban improved to 11-17 overall and 7-12 in Cascade Conference play. SOU fell to 9-19 overall and 7-12 in conference action.
