If you haven't heard (or said) enough about it just yet, the proposed state welcome center near Ashland is the subject of another public hearing in Medford today.

The hearing before county commissioners is at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the county courthouse, 10 S. Oakdale Ave.

Commissioners continued an earlier hearing on the subject to gather more input from the public on the welcome center and rest area, which the state wants to build between Interstate 5 mileposts 12 and 13 near Ashland.

Neighbors in the area have voiced concerns about noise and traffic. State officials have said they will not allow trucks to use the rest area.
