LaGRANDE — Southern Oregon's season came to an abrupt end in the opening round of the Cascade Conference men's basketball playoffs Wednesday.

The seventh-seeded Raiders were bounced out of the post seson by third-seeded Eastern Oregon, 83-67.

Eastern Oregon, ranked 10th in this week's NAIA Top 25 poll, improved to 23-6 overall and Southern Oregon's season ended at 9-21.

Southern Oregon trailed 43-35 at halftime.

The Mountaineers led 67-52 after a 10-0 run with 8:26 to play. But the Raiders cut the lead to 71-65 with 5:12 left on baskets by Austin Wolfer, Jarrad Child and freshman Joe White.

Again Eastern Oregon responded to pull ahead by 77-67 with just over three minutes remaining.

Paul Carollo led Eastern with 15 points, while Jordan Gregg had 14 and Kris Groce finished with 13.

Southern Oregon was paced by Wolfer with 16 points. Humphrey Jackson added 14 and Childs had 11 for the Raiders.
