Kids can get a taste of several operas today when the Rogue Opera takes the music public as part of its Opera in the Schools program.

Kids can get a taste of several operas today when the Rogue Opera takes the music public as part of its Opera in the Schools program.

Opera singers will perform at 10 a.m. in Grants Pass, at 1 p.m. in Ashland and at 3 p.m. in Medford. The shows are free and open to everyone.

Sung in English, the show is a whirlwind of opera scenes from "Carmen," "The Marriage of Figaro," "Die Fledermaus," "Romeo and Juliet," "Hansel and Gretel," "The Medium" and "Così fan tutte."

The Grants Pass show is at the Rogue Building Auditorium at Rogue Community College, 3345 Redwood Highway, Ashland's is at the library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., and Medford's is at St. Mary's School, 816 Black Oak Drive.
