TEMPE, Ariz. — Southern Oregon players continued to have a big impact for the No. 22-ranked Oregon State baseball team Friday as it downed No. 15 Missouri, 12-8, in the DeMarini Invitational.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Southern Oregon players continued to have a big impact for the No. 22-ranked Oregon State baseball team Friday as it downed No. 15 Missouri, 12-8, in the DeMarini Invitational.

Sam Gaviglio, a freshman pitcher from Ashland, worked three innings of relief and gained his first collegiate victory. Rob Folsom, a former North Medford star, had three hits, giving him seven in the past two games, and drove in two runs.

Gaviglio allowed three runs and three hits over two innings, striking out three in his first career appearance.

Stefen Romero doubled twice and drove in four runs to lead the Beaver offense at Packard Stadium.

OSU came back from a 6-5 deficit for their third victory this season. It initially held a five-run lead, relinquished it, then reclaimed it, outscoring the Tigers, 7-3, over the last four innings.

The Beavers rapped 13 hits, giving them 33 over their two games here. Romero finished tied for the team lead with three hits, also singling home a run in the seventh.

Folsom added two RBIs, and Joey Wong also finished with two hits for the Beavers, who have won three straight.

The Beavers took a 5-0 lead after three innings. Ryan Ortiz drove in the game's first run on a ground out in the first. He also scored a run in the Beavers' four-run third. During the frame, Folsom and Koa Kahalehoe each drove in solo runs on singles and Romero doubled for the first time, which scored John Wallace.

Missouri, however, scored the next six runs off Beaver starter Tanner Robles and Gaviglio.

Oregon State plays host to Arizona State tonight.
