ROGUE RIVER — West Valley League player of the year Jordan Tebbatt proved to be too much to handle for Rogue River as Horizon Christian defeated the Chieftains 60-43 in the first round of the Class 3A boys basketball state playoffs.

Tebbatt scored seven of his 21 points in the second quarter as Horizon Christian pulled out to a 33-18 halftime lead it would not relinquish.

Brenden Schoner led the Chieftains (17-10) with 15 points.
